Telemark President Named Entrepreneur of the Year by Newt Gingrich’s The American Solution’s Business Defense and Advisory Council

Bridgehampton, NY (September 22, 2009) – Frank Dalene, president of Telemark, Inc., has been named Entrepreneur of the Year for New York State by American Solution’s The American Business Defense and Advisory Council, a group headed by former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. The award will be presented to Mr. Dalene at a special dinner meeting to be held at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 23.

Dalene, who was born in Telemark, a county in Norway, arrived in the United States and has lived on Long Island nearly his entire life. He got his start being tutored by his Father, Hugo Dalene, who became a builder upon his arrival from Norway. At an early age, Frank apprenticed under his father’s tutelage. After attending Nyack College, he honed his skills and started his own contracting business following graduation. Shortly after that he joined his father and together they founded Telemark. Throughout the past 30-plus years, Telemark has built a solid reputation of bringing the honesty and craftsmanship that has been associated with fine Scandinavian building. Telemark is now considered to be one of the premier builders in the Hamptons.

Recently Dalene has been at the forefront of the formation of the Hamptons Green Alliance, a group of contractors who specialize in a variety of disciplines in the building industry, who have come together to share their knowledge in the area of “green” building technologies. This followed a long-time interest in the area of sustainable and environmentally sound building practices that Dalene has advocated for many years. The Hamptons Green Alliance and Telemark are presently possibly building the country’s first Energy Free, Carbon Neutral, LEED Platinum home.

He recently developed a mathematical formula that scientifically determines the carbon footprint of any manufactured product. Called the Carbon Factor Index (or CFI), this methodology has generated interest from many of the world’s most respected scientists and environmentalists. At the dinner, Dalene is expected to share some of his insights in the area of environmentally-friendly, sustainable building and the climate change mechanism he developed with Speaker Gingrich during the dinner meeting.
